Exchanges Calls for Associate Editors & Papers for Forthcoming Themed Issues

2026-08-11

The Exchanges journal has two great opportunities for people to get involved as authors or editorial contributors

In the last week Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal, one of the family of journals published by University of Warwick Press, has announced it is looking for people to get involved with two of their journal’s future issues.

Call for Associate Editors

In the first instance, the journal is looking for people willing to get involved as associate editors, to help guide the production and publication of their forthcoming issue entitled A Woman’s Labour: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Work, Health, and Care. This issue is being developed in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Health Inequalities at Buckinghamshire New University. Associate editors are sought from the postgraduate arts, humanities and social science communities with specific scholarly interest in the issue’s focus. No prior editorial experience is required, although some familiarity with the publishing process is desirable. Successful applicants will be provided with training, guidance and support throughout their work.

Call for Papers

In the second, a call for papers on the theme Navigating Precarity in Higher Education was announced, with abstracts for this issue due by 19th October 2026. Given the current challenges within the university sector for academics and professional staff alike, this is a timely and likely challenging theme for the journal to address. The journal is looking for a variety of formats, topics and perceptions around this theme from scholars and practitioners anywhere along in their career track.

More details on the call, including the prospective deadlines for manuscript submission and publication schedule can also be found on the Exchanges site.

In both case, Chief Editor Dr Michelle Devereaux (exchangesjournal@warwick.ac.uk) welcomes informal approaches and questions via email.
